Základní škola Františka Křižíka Bechyně - project coordinator
The school provides primary education in two levels:basic for children aged 6-11 and secondary 11-15. The school also offers a club for after-school activities, including sports clubs of interests, German and English lessons, creative workshops. The school is attended by about 220 pupils from the town of Bechyně as well as by pupils from the neighbouring villages. There are about 14 teachers, 3 tutors, 1 pedagogical assistant and 5 other stuff members at school lead by a headmaster and a vice-headmistress. In general there are no significant problems with behaviour, only a slight percentage is at a risk of social exclusion and a low percentage has learning disabilities such as dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dysphasia and dyslexia. The school supports programmes such as "Milk and vegetables at school", "Eco school". 1)The school has participated in international partnerships and one of the leading motivation is the demand for such projects among the students and the staff. 2) The work on international projects prove to raise the students' motivation in learning foreign languages and about other European countries and cultures. 3)The topics always bring new knowledge, broadens students' and teachers' awareness on them, they often are the reason for accepting or at least trying some new methods, teaching techniques, usage of new software and programmes - skills that remain useful using in the studies and teaching practice after finishing the projects. The key people in the project realisation will be the headmaster ensuring the responsibilities for the institution. Both English teachers will be in charge of the project realisation in the roles of a coordinator and subcoordinator. They will work in close contact and have regular meetings in order to exchange ideas, information, share duties etc. within the coordination - communication with partners, meeting deadlines, control over the work on the project outcomes, organisation of meetings and travel. The team will involve the school accountant who will be in charge of the financial matters -control of invoices, keeping the budget. A team of teachers will be formed. They will work on the project outcomes and will take part in the meetings. They will contribute to the topics that are close to their profiles and subjects and will lead the students to achieve the required forms and results. We will rely on the help and contribution of the teachers of all school subjects. Though no changes in the personnel are foreseen in case of staff changes the leaving person will train their successors so that they can fully substitute them. Our school hopes we can contribute with the experience gained during the realisation of the projects before. Then it’s the specific country’s context that will bring different scope to the project topic (being landlocked in comparison to the other partners but quite rich in water resources).

We have some pupils with special needs, number of children whose parents are divorced or emigrated abroad, some students from Child Social Foster Home. The school recognises its responsibilities to meet the learning requirements of all children including those with social problems, special learning needs and within its general teaching programmes. Children learn three foreign languages: English, German and Russian. In addition to daily classroom instruction, students receive enrichment in foreign languages (English, German), ICT, Music and Dance. Students are also enrolled in extended social day programmes. Our current philosophy is to provide learning that is challenging and appropriate to the present and future needs of our children. The project could help us educate personalities who are innovative, creative, competitive as well as ready for further successful academic and professional activities. The project could prepare students for a life within the community and to work in multinational teams. It would be the great opportunity to develop students' skills and talents.

Agrupamento de Escolas José Sanches e Sao Vincente da Beira
Our school is located near Spain, in the village of Alcains in the city of Castelo Branco. It has about 1000 students from kinder garden to secondary school (high school). It has a lot of projects/activities for all the students, aiming to improve our students’ experiences, including sports (swimming, chess, football, basketball, adventure in the nature, mountain bike etc), Europeans club, eco school, theatre, etc. We have different curricular offers including music, tourism, informatics, science, literature, sports and others. In our school we have all kind of resources to help classes and the activities that we have, for example: library, gym, science laboratories, informatics laboratories, theatre, music room, arts room, bar, canteen etc. We aim to prepare students for life in an increasingly globalized world, by improving language skills, in particular English, and increasing the utilization of the new and communicating technologies, which we try to integrate in the educational process. We also aim to achieve an international focus, by encouraging learning about cultural diversity and this way, expect to have the necessary tools to exist in the contemporary world. The School has developed and implemented since 2009 Comenius projects, financed by the EU and covering various topics related to conflicts resolution, people’s mobility in Europe and dropout prevention through practice sports. These projects covered the students of different educational levels. Their success is proven by the intermediate and final evaluations made, not only by the National Agency as by the internal structures, who assessed their impact on the school’s life in the following areas: reducing the dropout and absenteeism; improving literacy in English in the school community; reducing the number of conflict situations; improvement of interdisciplinary work; positive developments in the way the community sees the school as evidenced by the increasing partnerships established with agents external to the school; progressive increase in the number of students and parents in extra-curricular activities. During these projects, ties were established with several partners in other countries. Our school Europeans Club and Eco School Club has experience in various student centered projects to increase respect for the environment and European citizenship development. There are several people very experienced in coordinating projects work.
Vogaskóli
Vogaskoli is a small public school of 300 pupils from year to year ten located right outside of central Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland. All the pupils come from the neighborhood area and most of them are brought up middle class. As a compulsory school, we have to cover all areas of the Icelandic curriculum but our strength lies in movie-making, math and ICT. In recent years the proportion of foreign pupils have increased in Vogaskóli. Most of them come from the Baltic countries and Poland but there are also students from Syria and the Balkan countries living in Iceland as refugees. The staff counts around fifty people and among there are some from the Baltic and Poland. Vogaskóli participated in a European project (Comenius) from 2013 to 2015. The project, Living Our Common Ancestry, dealt with the relationships among European peoples in the ancient history and used collaborative writing techniques in order to write fictional stories. It included the use of ITC for communication and collaborative work. This experience has encouraged us to follow that track further to widen our students and teachers view towards the world we all live in, which is extremely important for inhabitants of a small isolated island. Vogaskóli is as well participating in a European project (Erasmus+) from 2017. The project, Words Over Walls, focuses on the collaboration between elderly informants and young learners as a resource for social inclusion. The project comprises the organization of teacher seminar on intergenerational education and inclusive practices in education.
