The partners will work on 4 sub-topics divided into 4 terms. Each school is going to sub-coordinate one of the topics and the culmination of the term will be the short term exchange of students at the place of the sub-coordinator where the participants will present their works and studies conducted at their schools, take part in common workshops, presentations, excursions etc. in order to present the gained knowledge on the topic, use and train the skills being developed by the work on the topic and the project. Last but not least, they will acquire new knowledge during the common programme at the partner school, meet the rest of the teams and step-by-step try to build a good international team.
The first topic involves studying how the geographical location influences and influenced the culture and the background of the countries involved (they present 4 varieties: island, landlocked territory, the ocean, the sea, other inland water resources with influence on the culture and mentality).
The second term will deal with the role of water in historical events, stages, movements etc.
The third term will be devoted to the discoveries through water (new lands, inventions etc.)
The fourth term will include exchange of messages among the partners based on the acquired knowledge from the previous project terms - students and teachers will work on their messages about water which will involve artistic and creative approaches as well as linguistic and scientific.
The topics have been distributed among the partners as follows: Czech team - 1st topic; Lithuanian - 2nd topic; Portuguese - 3rd topic; Iceland - 4th topic.
Besides the teachers will meet at 4 joint staff training sessions where they will try to discover new methods, get familiar with new approaches and teaching techniques, learn using new software/communication platforms/I-tools/tools for surveys etc., train in providing first aid, broaden their awareness about the historical aspects of the topics and the discoveries matters. They will use the skills and knowledge from the training sessions in the project outcome elaboration, in the work with their students, in their further pedagogical practice.
Sum-up: the 1st objective (acquiring knowledge) is present in all of the project steps-preparation for outcome release, work on outcomes, presentations of outcomes, meetings with students and teachers, evaluation and dissemination of results.
The 2nd (language level) is also present in all the project work from communication among students and teachers, through outcome elaboration in English to meetings and evaluation and dissemination of results.
The 3rd (professional development) will be reached by the trainings and proved by the following support for the students and the project outcome release and the general work on the project. The 4th (digital competences) will also follow every project's step - from communication and use of blog, Skype, email to use of software to present or elaborate outcomes.
